AI Traffic Cameras Detect 56,536 Violations During Trial Phase in Goa

Goa Khabar: AI-powered traffic cameras installed across Goa detected 56,536 traffic violations on July 4 during their trial phase, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho announced.

The Minister said the violations were recorded at 26 locations where the AI camera system is currently undergoing testing. He clarified that motorists will continue to receive warning notices until July 15, after which traffic fines will be imposed for violations detected by the system.

Godinho further said the AI surveillance network will be expanded from the current 26 locations to 52 locations by September, significantly increasing traffic monitoring across the state.

He added that the government plans to install a total of 90 AI traffic cameras across Goa by December, aiming to strengthen enforcement, improve road safety, and encourage better compliance with traffic regulations.
