Goa Police felicitates winners of drug awareness competitions

Goa Khabar : Goa Police felicitated the winners of various drug awareness competitions organised by the Anti Narcotic Police Station on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) Conference Hall in the presence of IGP K.R. Chaurasia, IPSDIGP Ved Prakash Surya, IPSSP (ANC) Sunita SawantNerlon Albuquerque, and other senior officers of Goa Police.

The competitions included Drawing and Painting Competitions for students of Classes V–VII and VIII–X, along with an Online Slogan Competition and an Online Reel Competition, based on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat / Drug-Free India.”

In the Drawing and Painting Competition for Classes V–VII, Master Indraneel Naik secured the first prize, Master Desmond D’Silva won the second prize, and Miss Sahana Santosh Bhaip finished third. In the Classes VIII–X category, Miss Ranjisha Gaonkar secured the first prize, followed by Miss Pratibha Sinha in second place and Miss Bhumi Mankodkar in third.

In the Online Slogan Competition, Sunny Shetye won the first prize, Raya Bhago Varak secured the second prize, and Sumedha Rama Rane finished third. In the Online Reel Competition, Bla Bla Bla Entertainment won the first prize, Harmal Panchakroshi Higher Secondary School & Institute of Vocational Studies, Harmal secured the second prize, while Ganesh Higher Secondary School, Mapusa received the third prize.

Addressing the gathering, IGP K.R. Chaurasia appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students, educational institutions and members of the public in supporting Goa Police’s anti-drug campaign. He said art, slogans and digital media are powerful tools for spreading awareness against drug abuse and promoting the message of a drug-free society.

He also urged citizens to report narcotics-related activities through the MANAS Helpline 1933, assuring that all information would be treated with complete confidentiality and the identity of informants would remain protected.

Goa Police congratulated all the winners and reiterated its commitment to working with educational institutions, parents and the community to build a safer and drug-free Goa.
