Goa Khabar : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced and now covers the entire state of Goa. The monsoon has also progressed into additional parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, most parts of Tamil Nadu, and several regions of the Bay of Bengal.
According to the latest update, the monsoon has advanced over the entire east-central Bay of Bengal, parts of the west-central, northeast, and northwest Bay of Bengal, as well as the northeastern states of Mizoram and Manipur.
The arrival of the monsoon across all of Goa marks the official onset of the rainy season in the state, bringing widespread rainfall and improved weather conditions after a period of intense heat and humidity.
The IMD has further stated that conditions remain favourable for the monsoon to advance into more parts of the central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, the remaining areas of Tamil Nadu, additional regions of the Bay of Bengal, and other northeastern states over the next two to three days.
Meteorologists expect rainfall activity to intensify across several regions as the monsoon continues its steady northward progress, providing much-needed relief from summer temperatures and supporting agricultural activities across the country.
