Goa Khabar : The Goa Football Association mourns the death of Mahesh Lotlikar, former India international, Goa Santosh Trophy winner in 1983, a distinguished centre-back who dedicated his life to the game.
A commanding presence in defence, Lotlikar enjoyed a long and decorated career with Dempo Sports Club, forming some of the most dependable central defensive partnerships of his era. Renowned for his strength, positional awareness and leadership, he was also a defender capable of rising to decisive moments, scoring crucial goals in important fixtures and leaving a lasting imprint on Goan football.
GFA President Dr. Caitano Fernandes said: “Mahesh Lotlikar represented Goan and Indian football with great distinction. His commitment, professionalism and contribution to the sport will always be remembered. On behalf of the Goa Football Association, I extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.”
