Goa Khabar : Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a blistering attack on the Pramod Sawant-led BJP government during a packed public meeting in Xeldem, held in support of AAP’s Zilla Panchayat candidate James Fernandes.
Arvind Kejriwal said: “The Pramod Sawant government is nothing but a hafta (extortion) vasoli sarkar. No work happens without demanding hafta or bribe. The Arpora incident is the clearest example — a nightclub without permissions operated freely only because the government was collecting hafta. This is why Goa today suffers under a ‘hafta vasoli sarkar.’”
He further warned: “Criminals openly threaten people… they threaten our workers… they threaten to remove ordinary Goans from their jobs. Is Goa BJP’s father’s property? Goa belongs to Goans. Their voice is AAP — and we are not afraid of anyone.”
He appealed to Goans to unite and remove the BJP from power to restore peace, safety and dignity.

VENZY VIEGAS: “James sir stood with people when no one else did”
MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas said: “James sir is the one who stood with the people when it was needed the most. Whether it was injustice, bad roads, crime issues or people needing urgent help — James was always first on the ground. Today the people of Xeldem must stand with him the way he has stood with them.”
He added: “Goa needs leaders who listen to people, not extort them. What Kejriwal ji said is the truth — this government has reduced governance to hafta collection. AAP will restore honesty and dignity.”
AMIT PALEKAR: “BJP must be defeated to protect Goa’s environment”
AAP State President Adv. Amit Palekar said: “The rising cases of wild animals entering villages show the complete collapse of environmental governance under BJP. If Goa’s environment is to be protected, BJP must be defeated. They fear AAP because we expose their corruption.”
He said that James Fernandes represents clean and accountable grassroots leadership that Goa desperately needs.

James Fernandes thanked AAP leaders and said: “Our people deserve justice, dignity and safe neighbourhoods. I stand here not as a politician, but as a son of Xeldem who wants to fix the issues that have been ignored for years.”
