Goa Khabar: The first day of India Beach Fashion Week (IBFW) saw colors and galore.

With Designers showcasing the best of Beach, Resort & Destination wear, Experiential Displays by Global Brands, Knowledge & Networking Sessions, Sea-Side Shopping, Exotic After Parties, Celebrity Engagements & a lot more!

 

Throwing some light on the concept, CEO & Co – Founder, India Beach Fashion Week – Mr. Pallav Ojha said, “IBFW is a destination submerge for participating designers, brands, influencers and the industry stakeholders. It’s a perfect B2B & B2C platform for designers to connect with buyers and consumers, brands, their target audience and young minds with inspiration.”

 

“This season & onwards, IBFW has been conceived to build India’s largest destination fashion and business platform for global travelers, affluent, buyers & focused media from India & abroad. The Objective is to focus on the growing destination wear business encompassing Beach, Resort, Swim, Travel and Destination weddings estimated at USD 30 Billion by end of 2018”, he added.

Paying an ode to the LGBTQ community, the fashion week started with a special show ‘Equal Love’ by the prestigious Anupama Dayal in association with Absolut. Anupama Dayal said, “I’ve been associated with this body for a long time and there is a sense of familiarity and loyalty. The theme of my collection is ‘Ordinary Love’. Let’s be grateful that we have the ability to love, that we live in a country whose judiciary albeit slow moving, recognizes our freedom to express ourselves regardless of religion, community, caste, sex. Open your eyes. Open your heart. All you will see is love.”

To go with the perfect mood & vibe, the style partner for the season Marks & Spencer presented their latest collection. Commenting on the association, Soozie Jenkinson, Head of Design for lingerie, Marks & Spencer, said, “India Beach Fashion Week is the ideal platform for M&S to showcase our latest Autumn Winter collections from stylish swimwear through to feminine lingerie.”

Volkswagen presents 5 designers, out of which Day 1 saw 3 collections from Deme by Gabriella, Esha Amiin, MEHRAAB by John Marya & Arun Ahuja.

 

In addition, IBFW will also feature the first ever 3D Projection Mapping of the car Tiguan along with grand finale showcase on Day 2 as a closing show to the fashion week. Expressing his views Anirban Mukherjee – Head Marketing Communication, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “We are proud to continue our association with IBFW. Timeless design is a hallmark of Volkswagen cars and this year we look forward to five top designers taking inspiration from the Volkswagen Tiguan and interpreting it through their collections at IBFW.”

 

Adding to the amazing lineup, the first day ended with a showcase by The COMO Designers Collective Show – an amalgamation of key showcasing designers like Gavin Miguel, Brindisi, Megha Garg, Natty Garb & Nidhi Munim to represent multifaceted collection offering of COMO like Resort wear, Beach wear, Cocktail & Party wear. “IBFW has always been our favorite spot to find fresh talent. Unlike other fashion weeks, IBFW is approachable, business focused and receptive to the demands of stores like us with the showcasing designers. We have hand-picked over 15 designers last season for COMO flagship store in Goa & the online platforms. We look forward to season 6,” said, Amit Bakhle, Ceo & Co – founder of COMO – Designers Collective.

 

In addition to this, IBFW also saw collections from Ohaila Khan & Nikita Mangeshkar
