Goa Khabar : At the Serendipity Arts Festival (SAF) 2024, acclaimed multidisciplinary artist duo Thukral and Tagra are captivating audiences with boundary-pushing visual arts projects. Through these evocative installations and experiences, the duo offers a deep dive into contemporary themes of hate, freedom, and cultural identity, inviting the public to reflect, create, and experience art in new and profound ways.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thukral and Tagra are all set to take visitors on a curated walkthrough of the multisensorial exhibition \u2018Multiplay\u2019 on Tuesday, December 17 at 12 PM, at the Old GMC\u00a0building<\/span>, Panaji, which explores art as an all-encompassing experience, not strictly limited to the visual realm.<\/p>\n

Nafrat, a part of \u2018Multiplay\u2019, highlights one of society’s most enduring and destructive emotions \u2014 hate. In this installation, Thukral & Tagra explore how hate is often an unspoken, yet deeply ingrained part of personal and cultural identities. “We aim to bring attention to how hate manifests in our daily lives and in larger societal structures,” says Tagra. By creating a space that invites visitors to reflect on their own experiences,\u00a0Nafrat\u00a0challenges the audience to confront uncomfortable truths about human nature and societal divides.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Poems on the Move, Thukral & Tagra, and SAF\u2019s Accessibility curator Salil Chaturvedi bring together poetry and travel in an immersive experience like no other. Visitors can embark on a journey through Panaji in shuttles and have live poetry narrated to them by poets, making a mundane journey magical. “Art is about connection. In this project, we want people to engage with their surroundings in a way that encourages introspection,” says Thukral. As participants are taken through Panaji\u2019s scenic landscapes, the journey becomes an act of both physical and creative movement, with the road serving as a metaphor for personal exploration and self-expression.<\/p>\n

Through these projects, which also include the bright red \u2018Traveling\u00a0Balc\u00e3os\u2019 that are engaging in conversation with the public about the dynamic culture of Goa, Thukral & Tagra push the boundaries of traditional art and curation, inviting visitors to break free from passive viewing and actively engage with the themes presented.
