Indo-Danish quintet led by Lors Moller to perform for the first time in Goa…<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Goa Khabar: <\/strong>A unique, \u2018RagaJazz\u2019 concert is set to enthral audiences on the lawns of the Silva Heritage resort in Benaulim, South Goa on the evening of Friday, November 22. The RagaJazz Quintet will be performing only one, exclusive concert for the first time in Goa.<\/p>\n

Curated by The Live Music Project (TLMP) and hosted by Silva Heritage this music show will see a quintet of musicians, a combination of Indians and Danish musicians present jazz inflected ragas and raga influenced jazz to audiences.<\/p>\n

A brainchild of the Danish, Grammy-award winning, saxophone-player and composer, Lars M\u00f8ller, RagaJazz\u00a0unites internationally acclaimed musicians from the traditions of Indian classical music and Scandinavian jazz.\u00a0They combine the colourful, melodic ragas and intense rhythms of India with the architectural beauty of Scandinavian music.<\/p>\n

Besides Moller, the band comprises Kala Ramnath on violin, Thor Madsen on guitar,\u00a0 Abhijit Banerjee on tabla and Jonas Johansen on drums.<\/p>\n

RagaJazz has performed all over theworld, including during the official Royal Danish state-visit to India in Delhi in 2023.The band members have played all over the world with musicians like Ry Cooder, Zakir Hussain, L. Shankar, Egberto Gismonti, Eliane Elias, Mike Stern and NH\u00d8P. Together they have performed more than eighty concerts\u00a0in India and Europe,\u00a0 including festivals and projects with leading European orchestras.<\/p>\n

Kala Ramnath is considered one of the top violin players in the world.\u00a0In 2017 she received the prestigious Sangeet Natak Academy Award. Lars M\u00f8ller\u00a0is a leading Scandinavian saxophone player and composer. He formed the RagaJazz troupe in 2016. Deeply rooted in the jazz tradition, he has a profound knowledge of Indian music. Thor Madsen\u2019s\u00a0guitar playing is influenced by a broad range of musical genres.\u00a0Abhijit Banerjee\u00a0is considered among the top tabla players in India and is known for \u00a0his sensitivity,skills and profound musicality.\u00a0Jonas Johansen\u00a0is an orchestral drummer with an outstanding curiosity and global mindset.<\/p>\n

The Friday, November 22 event has been curated by Vinesh Iyer and Darryl Noronha of the The Live Music Project (TLMP), the organisation which has been organising quality music events and festivals in Goa for the last 15 years.<\/p>\n
