She added, \u201cThis film is about friendship between three different women and oftentimes women are pitted against each other, but for me friendship is a very important relationship because it can lead to greater solidarity, inclusivity and empathy towards each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Malayalam-Hindi\u00a0feature starring\u00a0Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam,\u00a0Hridhu Haroon\u00a0and\u00a0Azees Nedumangad, All We Imagine as Light is the story of Nurse Prabha, whose routine is troubled when she receives an unexpected gift from her estranged husband. Her younger roommate, Anu, tries in vain to find a spot in the city to be intimate with her boyfriend. A trip to a beach town allows them to find a space for their desires to manifest.<\/p>\n
The film is an\u00a0Indo-French co-production\u00a0between\u00a0Petit Chaos\u00a0from France and\u00a0Chalk and Cheese Films\u00a0from India. The other co-producers are Arte France Cin\u00e9ma, Baldr Film, Another Birth, Les Films Fauves and Pulpa Film.<\/p>\n
Thomas Hakim\u00a0and\u00a0Julien Graff\u00a0are the producers from Petit Chaos. The Indian producers are\u00a0Zico Maitra\u00a0(Chalk and Cheese) and\u00a0Ranabir Das\u00a0(Another Birth) who is also the Cinematographer of the film.\u00a0.<\/p>\n
Payal\u2019s acclaimed debut feature doc\u00a0\u2018A Night of Knowing Nothing\u2019\u00a0premiered at Cannes Film Festival\u2019s sidebar\u00a0Directors\u2019 Fortnight\u00a02021 won the\u00a0Oeil d’Or (Golden Eye) award for Best Documentary film\u00a0and traveled around the world since then.<\/p>\n
‘Afternoon Clouds’\u00a0was part of the\u00a0Cinefondation section\u00a0in the 2017 edition of Cannes Film Festival which also takes place during the Festival along with the Critics’ Week and Director’s Fortnight.<\/p>\n
Director\u2019s Biography<\/strong><\/p>\nPayal Kapadia is a Mumbai based filmmaker. She studied Film Direction at the Film & Television Institute of India. Her short films\u00a0Afternoon Clouds\u00a0and\u00a0And What Is The Summer Saying\u00a0premiered respectively at the Cin\u00e9fondation and the Berlinale. Her first feature film\u00a0A Night of Knowing Nothing\u00a0premiered at 2021 Director’s Fortnight, where it won the Golden Eye for best documentary.<\/p>\n
