~Apart from the 3 theatres in Cinepolis Jagat, CIFF is setting up a 60 foot wide cinema screen in the central square of Government Museum & Arts Gallery, Sector 10, Chandigarh. Besides the opening and closing films, the venue will host the classics\u00a0Jalsaghar<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(<\/em>Satyajit\u2019s Ray\u2019s 1958 musical), Guru Dutt\u2019s\u00a0Kaagaz Ke Phool<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1959) and\u00a0The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>(2020),<\/strong>\u00a0a recut of the original\u00a0Godfather 3<\/em>\u00a0by Francis Ford Coppola to mark the 30th anniversary of the film.\u00a0<\/strong>An\u00a0experiential cinema exhibition to celebrate the works of centenarians\u00a0Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand\u00a0<\/strong>in the Rose Garden Underpass. Screenings of Children\u2019s films are open to\u00a0all children<\/strong>\u00a0from the ages of 10-17 at 9 AM from 27-31 March 2024 at Cinepolis Jagat\u00a0~<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Opening film\u00a0<\/strong>of the festival is\u00a0Cannes Award-winning French film<\/strong>\u00a0\u2018The Taste of Things\u2019<\/em>\u00a0starring\u00a0Juliette Binoche.\u00a0<\/strong>Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Anh Hung Tran, the historical romantic drama won the award for Best Director in the Cannes Film Festival, 2023.\u00a0 The\u00a0Closing film<\/strong>\u00a0is South Korea\u2019s highest grossing film of 2024 till date – the\u00a0\u00a0 Horror-Mystery-Thriller\u00a0Exhuma<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(Pamyo) which premiered at 2024 Berlinale.<\/p>\n

Both the Opening and Closing films will have their India Premieres at the festival\u00a0<\/strong>and shall be open air screenings in the Government Museum & Arts Gallery, Sector 10, the main venue of CIFF 2024.<\/p>\n

An\u00a0experiential cinema exhibition<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0celebrate the centenary of Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand<\/strong>\u00a0is being set up in the\u00a0Rose Garden Underpass<\/strong>\u00a0in collaboration with\u00a0National Film Archives (NFDC)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0students of Chandigarh College of Architecture.<\/strong>\u00a0A screening of Children\u2019s films is open to\u00a0all children<\/strong>\u00a0from the ages of 10-17 years at 9 AM each day from 27-31 March 2024 at Cinepolis Jagat.<\/p>\n

\n

This inaugural edition of the festival will also feature\u00a0CIFF\/market\u00a0<\/strong>to facilitate the business and craft of filmmaking.\u00a0More than 15 curated projects by creators with a strong presence in the Indian film industry are being presented at CIFF\/market.\u00a0<\/strong>CIFF will also feature workshops, master classes and panel discussions for the benefit of festival and industry delegates.<\/p>\n
