Goa Khabar:: As the NoMoZo5:0 event approaches in January 2024, the Minister for Tourism, IT, Printing & Stationery in the Government of Goa, Rohan Khaunte, sheds light on the vision aimed at transforming Goa into an eco-friendly and sustainable tourism hub.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Khaunte shared his vision for Goa beyond its renowned beaches and lively nightlife, emphasising the untapped potential of the state\u2019s rich culture. He said, \u201cGoa is more than just beaches, it\u2019s about preserving our unique identity and legacy through cultural events and festivals. We are aiming to attract high-quality tourists who can significantly contribute to our economy.\u201d<\/div>\n

Reflecting on the journey of NoMoZo, Khaunte spoke about the festival\u2019s roots in childhood nostalgia. \u201cNoMoZo is an attempt to bring people together in a no-motor zone, preserving Goan culture for generations. It started as a small idea but has grown, thanks to the support of Porvorim\u2019s residents and the leadership of Ninil D\u2019Souza.\u201d<\/div>\n
He further said that Porvorim\u2019s visionary document, spanning two decades, outlined the planning invested in creating a sustainable and inclusive community. \u201cEssential infrastructure, combined with innovative parks like the Art Park, the Nana Nani Park, and the Science Park, emphasise Porvorim\u2019s commitment to community bonding and nature appreciation.\u201d<\/div>\n

On the topic of diversifying tourism in Goa, the Minister acknowledged the potential of wellness and spiritual tourism. \u201cWe\u2019re embracing all forms of tourism, with a particular focus on wellness and spirituality. Goa\u2019s assets, including the National Institute of Ayurveda, will play a key role in attracting investments and developing a sustainable ecosystem.\u201d<\/div>\n
Looking forward, Khaunte discussed ongoing and future initiatives, including support for local artisans, the upcoming Porvorim flyover set to enhance the area\u2019s allure, and the imperative of a comprehensive vision document for the next 15-20 years. Collaboration emerged as a central theme, emphasizing the commitment to working together for positive, long-term results that will shape Goa\u2019s future as a thriving and inclusive tourism hub.<\/div>\n
