Goa Khabar:<\/strong> The 29th Energy Technology Meet (ETM) commenced today at the ONGC Advanced Training Institute in Goa, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and technology experts to explore innovations shaping India\u2019s energy future. The event was inaugurated by Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Organised by the Centre for High Technology (CHT) under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, and co-hosted by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), the three-day meet is themed \u201cAccelerating Energy Innovation: From Research to Commercialisation.\u201d<\/em> The platform aims to strengthen collaboration across the energy value chain and accelerate the development and commercial adoption of emerging technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the Day 1 programme, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri participated in a fireside chat with journalist Palki Sharma Upadhyay, discussing key priorities for India\u2019s energy sector, including energy security, affordability, the energy transition and LPG supply diversification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Minister also visited the exhibition stalls, where technology providers, process licensors, engineering firms and energy companies showcased products, technologies and solutions for the downstream hydrocarbon sector. The exhibition provided an opportunity for stakeholders to exchange knowledge, demonstrate technological advancements and explore solutions to emerging industry challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Discussions on Day 1 also highlighted key government initiatives aimed at diversifying India\u2019s energy mix and strengthening domestic energy production. GOBARdhan, the National Circular Bioenergy Scheme, has an outlay of Rs. 23,731 crore for FY 2026\u201327 to FY 2035\u201336 to scale up compressed biogas production and support the growth of the circular bioeconomy. Complementing these efforts, Samudra Manthan, the National Offshore Exploration Scheme, has an approved outlay of Rs. 84,084 crore up to FY 2030\u201331 to boost oil and gas exploration in deepwater and ultra-deepwater areas, strengthen domestic resource development and contribute to India\u2019s long-term energy security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LPG diversification also featured among the key focus areas, particularly in the context of strengthening supply resilience, ensuring fuel availability and maintaining affordability for consumers. The discussions underscored the importance of diversifying supply sources and developing a more resilient energy ecosystem to meet the country\u2019s growing demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Minister also interacted with the media during a press conference, addressing issues relating to India\u2019s energy landscape, including fuel availability, energy security, the energy transition and initiatives to diversify energy sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The meet continues until October 29, featuring technical presentations, panel discussions, poster sessions and an exhibition. Key areas of focus include green hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, carbon capture, crude-to-chemicals, biofuels and gas-based energy. The programme brings together experts from India and abroad to share research, exchange industry perspectives and identify opportunities to translate technological advances into commercially viable solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n MC\u00b2 Ignite highlighted innovation in the energy sector, while a session with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) explored the creation of a start-up ecosystem in India.
