Built by M\/s Larsen and Toubro Ltd under the Government of India&#8217;s <strong>Make in India<\/strong> initiative, <em>Samarthak<\/em> is the <strong>first of four Multi-Purpose Vessels <\/strong>being inducted into the Indian Navy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commissioning will mark another significant milestone in India&#8217;s drive towards defence self-reliance and she will form an important component of the Navy\u2019s future and ideal \u201cutility\u201d ship for strategically important operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/12.10.2026.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-115862\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/12.10.2026.png 300w, https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/12.10.2026-200x300.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Designed primarily for maritime surveillance and patrol, <em>Samarthak<\/em> is also capable of undertaking <strong>Low Intensity Maritime Operations (LIMO), Target Deployment &amp; Trials Platform, Unmanned\/ autonomous System Mothership, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), conversion to a limited hospital ship and fighting for salvage operations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her integrated combat suite combines indigenous sensors, weapons and electronic systems specifically optimized for operations in the challenging maritime environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The crest of Samarthak, features the formidable Indian elephant emerging from the waves, symbolising strength, intelligence and agility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Goa Khabar:The Indian Navy is set to commission Samarthak at Naval Base, Karwar on 16 Oct 2026.
