RGP National President Viresh Mukesh Borkar<\/strong> has conveyed the party\u2019s willingness to hold formal discussions with the Congress, citing common ground on issues related to Goa\u2019s identity, land, employment, environment, sustainable development and the protection of the State\u2019s distinctive social and cultural character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a press note issued on Wednesday, the RGP said a possible alliance should not be limited to a seat-sharing arrangement but should aim at providing Goa with a strong, united and credible political alternative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The party has proposed the formulation of a Common Minimum Programme<\/strong> focused on protecting Goa and Goan interests, along with a transparent and mutually agreed seat-sharing formula for the 2027 Assembly elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n RGP has also proposed electoral coordination for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections in Goa<\/strong>, safeguards against defections, and a coordinated campaign based on a common political vision for the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The RGP said it has already begun organisational preparations and campaigning for the 2027 Assembly elections and therefore wants the proposed alliance discussions to move forward without unnecessary delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The party has proposed that the alliance process be concluded within 30 days of receipt of its letter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n RGP has nominated a six-member committee comprising Amol Navelkar as Chairman, Rohan Mohan Naik, Candido Correa, Neeraj Dhamaskar, Siddharth Anand Naik and Viresh Mukesh Borkar<\/strong> to represent the party during the talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The committee will hold discussions with the six-member Alliance Committee constituted by the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Borkar said the proposed political understanding was not merely about electoral calculations but about Goa\u2019s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFor RGP, this is not about political arithmetic. It is about the future of Goa.
