He said that Government is trying to give permission to M\/s Goan Marine Impex Private Limited for establishing Fish Meal Production Plant, though Cuncolim Municipal Council has rejected the proposal and also by the locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Ministers and Government is pressurising CMC Chief Officer to pass the file. I condemn this Dadagiri. Council had earlier denied permission to this plant and we will not allow it,\u201d Alemao said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alemao said that if Government tries to pass this file by threatening officials, then it will have to face consequences as people will not stay silent over the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Besides the Fish Meal issue, he also asked to stop operations of M\/ s Sunrise Electromelt in Cuncolim, which is creating pollution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI have written to Goa State Pollution Control Board to immediately stop operations of M\/ s Sunrise Electromelt\/Orange Fox for failure of the Air Pollution Control Equipment. This establishment continues to violate the norms and creating large scale pollution,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alemao said that in this regards letters have been written to Chief Minister, TCP Minister and Pollution Control Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFindings of a survey conducted by the Primary Health Centre-Balli has revealed an alarming rise in respiratory problems, cancer, Chronic Kidney disease, and Psoriasis among residents due to pollution in Cuncolim Industrial Estate. As per the report of PHC-Balli, they have conducted this survey in Simplear, Kegdicotto, Masconi, Bellathemb, Gullecotto, Bhatti, Takaband and IDC,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAround 28 people have been suffering from Respiratory problem, 29 have Skin allergy, 11 people suffering from Asthma, one is found with Chronic Kidney disease, 8 people have sinus problem 8, two have past history of Tuberculosis, one is suffering from Psoriasis, and others have complained of dust allergy and eye burning sensation.
