{"id":114845,"date":"2026-08-17T20:29:23","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T14:59:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/?p=114845"},"modified":"2026-08-17T20:29:27","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T14:59:27","slug":"goa-sees-6-14-million-visitors-in-the-first-seven-months-of-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/?p=114845","title":{"rendered":"Goa sees 6.14 million Visitors in the First Seven Months of 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>July records 2.27% growth in tourist arrivals as Goa sees renewed momentum in the monsoon months<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Goa Khabar:<\/strong>\u00a0The state of Goa recorded a whopping\u00a0<strong>61.38 lakh tourist arrivals between January and July 2026<\/strong>, with an overall growth of 0.08% compared to the corresponding period last year, according to the latest data of the Department of Tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The state welcomed&nbsp;<strong>59.02 lakh domestic tourists and 2.36 lakh international<\/strong>&nbsp;during the first seven months of&nbsp;<strong>2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July 2026 recorded 6.94 lakh total tourist arrivals, with a 2.27% growth over July 2025.<\/strong>&nbsp;The data reflects the continued strength of Goa\u2019s tourism pull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commenting on the tourist arrivals,\u00a0<strong> Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, said<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>\u201cThe numbers tell us that Goa continues to remain a strong and resilient tourism destination. The growth in domestic arrivals and the positive momentum seen are encouraging. At the same time, we are looking beyond numbers and working to diversify our offerings and our markets, strengthen international connectivity and build tourism products that can attract visitors across seasons. Our objective is not just to bring more tourists to Goa, but to bring the right audiences for the experiences Goa has to offer. Wellness, heritage, MICE, adventure, nautical tourism, spiritual tourism, gastronomy and workation are creating new reasons for tourists to visit Goa beyond the traditional beach holidays.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The state is also intensifying efforts to expand its international tourism footprint by engaging in emerging and established source markets, while strengthening air connectivity and developing targeted tourism products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Director of Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik<\/strong>, said,&nbsp;<em>\u201cThe July figures are particularly significant as they point to continued demand during the monsoon season, traditionally considered an off-peak period for Goa.
