Goa Khabar : Former Delhi CM Atishi & AAP MLA Capt Venzy Viegas inaugurated an integrated VR Science Lab at Sacred Heart of Jesus High School in Carmona set up using Capt Viegas’ MLA fund. Atishi asked Goan politicians to introspect why they have never invested their MLA funds in aided schools despite most of them having studied in one. Capt Viegas added that soon every school in Benaulim will have such labs & pointed out that investment in future ready schools is what sets AAP apart from all the other parties in India.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A state of the art VR Science Lab was built using the MLA fund of Capt Venzy Viegas allowing students to experience learning in the 21st century. This is the first time in Goa that an MLA fund has been used to improve an aided school’s infrastructure & academic facilities. The lab contained state of the art VR learning equipment and programs along with other equipment that was demonstrated for Former Delhi CM Atishi and other visiting dignitaries. Capt Viegas’ MLA fund was also used for renovationg the school and adding a rainwater harvesting system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to those present, Atishi pointed out that these facilities far outmatched those at many private schools & made the learning experience at the aided school at par if not better than at private schools. Atishi pointed out that while many MLAs, Ministers and even Chief Ministers have studied at aided schools, it is a shame that none of them have used their MLA funds to improve their facilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that it is common to see the bank balance of MLAs increase in bounds between elections while schools lie languishing in disrepair. As one of the architects of the Delhi Education revolution Atishi stated that if a school is well maintained, students feel proud and more motivated to study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capt Viegas said that it was an emotional moment for him to be able to use MLA funds to upgrade the very school in Carmona he grew up studying. Viegas said that it was Arvind Kejriwal’s vision on education that made him join Aam Aadmi Party and today he wanted to show the residents of Benaulim what it means to implement that vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viegas stated that all the 8 schools in Benaulim now have rooftop rainwater harvesting systems set up by the MLA fund. He pointed that this is not even true for the CM or Dy CM’s constituency. He added that all the schools in Benaulim now have access to E-libraries impacting the lives of 4500 students. Renovations were also carried out at the school and another higher secondary school as well. While every church and temple has been provided with solar powered infrastructure allowing them to not pay bills. He added that all Goans must have access to quality, world class education regardless of their income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Aam Aadmi Party leaders reiterated that the difference between AAP and other parties is their dedication to provide quality education to everyone in Goa. They stated that if elected to power AAP will ensure that all aided schools in Goa will receive 3 crores of aid to upgrade their facilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
