He said that while Goa is a small state with relatively fewer beneficiaries, the impact of welfare schemes can be significant if implemented effectively.

Shri Rijiju said he would discuss with the State Government for initiatives to ensure better utilisation and awareness in the State about the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram, the ministry’s flagship scheme for minority welfare and infrastructure development.

“Goa is a progressive and aware society. It should take full advantage of the schemes and funds available through the Ministry of Minority Affairs and NMDFC,” Shri Rijiju said, and added the ministry’s objective is to ensure that minority communities benefit from development initiatives, particularly in the areas of self-employment, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

The minister also urged state authorities and NMDFC officials to work together to encourage greater participation of women and youth in concessional loan schemes.

Reiterating the ministry’s commitment to fostering social harmony and inclusive development, he said India’s strength lies in its multicultural and multi-religious character and cautioned against misinformation and divisive narratives spread through social media.

Shri Rijiju also proposed exploring the possibility of organising the ministry’s flagship Lok Samvardhan Parv in Goa. The national event showcases traditional crafts, textiles, cuisine and entrepreneurship from minority communities across the country. He said such an initiative would provide local artisans, entrepreneurs and self-help groups a platform to market their products and expand business opportunities.

During the interaction, beneficiaries shared their experiences and suggestions regarding the implementation of NMDFC schemes and measures to further improve access to credit and livelihood opportunities. The Union Minister assured them that their feedback would be carefully examined and reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, NMDFC and GSMFDC to make the schemes more accessible, responsive and beneficial to minority communities.

Shri Manoj Punia, General Manager, NMDFC; Shri Ajit Panchwadkar, Managing Director, GSMFDC, and Ms Punam Desai, Assistant Manager, GSMFDC, were present on the occasion.

PIB Panaji | Nana Meshram/ Riyas Babu/ Priti Malandkar

Minority ministry’s flagship program ‘Lok Samvardhan Parv’ likely to be held in Goa next year Goa Khabar:Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju on Thursday called for greater awareness and utilisation of minority welfare schemes in Goa, while interacting with beneficiaries of the National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) at […]

[6,155
3794,38
post-113293","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-6","category-155","tag-featured","tag-goa
["GET
