Goa Khabar:<\/strong> In a major cybercrime crackdown, the Crime Branch Goa has busted a fake call centre operating from St. Inez, Panaji and registered an offence against multiple accused involved in an international online fraud targeting US citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to official information, Crime No. 43\/2026 has been registered under Sections 319(2), 318(4), 61(2) of the BNS Act 2023 along with Sections 66C and 66D of the IT Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The complaint was filed by Police Inspector Tushar G. Lotliker of Crime Branch Ribandar. The offence was registered on April 29, 2026, following a raid conducted between 2:00 AM and 7:10 AM at Apartment No. 104, Dukle Elite, St. Inez, Panaji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the operation, police found that the accused had set up a fake call centre and were running an organised cyber fraud racket. The prime accused, including Yash Dessai and Karan Mala from Gujarat along with others, allegedly hatched a criminal conspiracy and employed additional persons from Assam, Delhi, Gujarat, and other states to operate the illegal setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The accused used laptops, virtual private networks (VPN), and the Eyebeam application to contact victims in the United States. Posing as loan company agents, they lured victims with promises of instant loans and financial assistance. The victims were then induced to transfer large amounts of money through gift cards such as Sephora, Macy\u2019s, Apple, Xbox, and Green Dot Money Pack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the raid, the Crime Branch seized 7 laptops, 7 mouse devices, 7 headphones, 7 laptop chargers, 13 mobile phones, and a Maruti Ciaz car (UP 32 KT 2649).
