Goa Khabar : The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Goa unit has launched a scathing attack on the state government following the granting of bail to Soham Sushant Naik, the son of a BJP councillor and the prime accused in a series of sexual assault cases involving several minor girls.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The student wing described the court’s decision as a “complete failure” of the state machinery to protect and deliver justice to the women of Goa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Criticisms and Allegations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In a strongly worded statement, NSUI leaders highlighted what they termed the “hypocrisy” of the ruling party, noting that the bail was granted on the same day the government accused the Congress party of “backstabbing women.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Failure of Justice:<\/strong> NSUI claims the release of the accused undermines the safety of women and sends a dangerous message to society.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Targeting ABVP:<\/strong> The organization also slammed the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), labeling them a “useless and spineless” student body for their perceived silence on the scandal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    Immediate Demands to the Government<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    NSUI has laid out a series of demands to the Chief Minister\u2019s office to rectify the situation and prioritize student safety:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Legal Appeal:<\/strong> An immediate challenge to the Sessions Court\u2019s bail order in a higher court.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Victim Support:<\/strong> Provision of professional counseling and psychological support for all the minor girls affected by the scandal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Mandatory Self-Defense:<\/strong> The introduction of compulsory self-defense classes in all Goan schools starting from the next academic year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
