Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party Goa Senior Vice President Sandesh Teleikar-Dessai, along with Mahila Wing President Mamata Maben and Ponda leader Geetesh Naik, addressed the media following the submission of a memorandum to the Chief Minister, demanding a time-bound commitment for the upgradation of the ID Hospital in Ponda into a full-fledged District Hospital.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

AAP leaders demanded that the BJP government remain accountable to its election promise and immediately initiate concrete steps to upgrade the hospital with essential healthcare facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the media, AAP Senior Vice President Sandesh Teleikar-Dessai stated that AAP had committed during the campaign to closely monitor the functioning of the ID Hospital and has stood by it by reminding the government of its responsibility through the memorandum. He said that AAP has demanded a clear timeline for the upgradation to district hospital and the establishment of ICU facilities, blood bank services, recruitment of specialist doctors, installation of advanced machines such as PET-CT scans, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of medicines and treatment. He further stated that AAP will actively monitor the progress of the hospital by conducting regular visits by Leaders and Volunteers to the ID and raising issues faced by patients and staff. He stated that the party has given the BJP government a 15-day deadline to initiate concrete action, failing which AAP, along with the people, will undertake appropriate public action to hold the government accountable. He added that AAP will continue serving people through its polyclinics and medical camps while keeping strict watch on the government\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AAP Ponda leader and by-poll candidate Geetesh Naik stated that during the by-election campaign, BJP had assured the people that the ID Hospital would be converted into a District Hospital, and it is now time to fulfil that promise. He said that for the past 14 years, the people of Ponda have struggled with poor healthcare facilities, and this issue cannot be delayed any further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geetesh Naik further warned that if the government fails to act within the stipulated time, AAP will launch a signature campaign and escalate the matter through public outrage. He stated that BJP must not betray the trust of the people and that AAP will ensure accountability on every promise made. He added that through its consistent work and commitment, AAP will continue to stand with the people of Ponda and fight for their right to quality healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AAP Mahila Wing President Mamata Maben stated that the poor condition of healthcare facilities at ID Hospital has especially impacted women, children, and elderly patients who are forced to travel long distances for even basic treatment. BJP must take immediate action and give a proper time bound plan to upgrade the hospital as promised, and assured that AAP will actively stand with the people of Ponda, ensuring that people\u2019s demands are met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
