The medical residents, Drs Dhruv Bawania, Ankit Nair and Pritesh Vaishnav, currently pursuing their DNB Medicine at the hospital, represented Goa and competed against 48 teams from leading medical colleges from across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The conference,\u00a0 one of the country\u2019s largest national gatherings of physicians and internal medicine specialists with nearly 10,000 delegates in attendance, featured academic sessions, workshops and the highly competitive National Medical Quiz. At the Quiz, the Goa team secured its spot among the top finalists and clinched the fifth spot following teams like IPGMER &amp; SSKM, Kolkata (1st), Madras Medical College &amp; Stanley Medical College, Chennai (2nd), KMC Manipal (3rd) and NIMS Hyderabad (4th).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">At the quiz, the efforts of Dr Dhruv Bawania and Dr Ankit Nair were especially noted as they were the only first year residents of DNB Medicine to compete. Furthermore, the team was lauded, as the Healthway Hospitals residents were the only participants to answer a challenging question.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This win adds to the team\u2019s consistent academic success, considering that they were earlier selected for the zonal round in Mumbai for the national quiz at IRACON 2025, and also qualified for the semifinal round of the National Medical Quiz at the RSSDI Conference 2025.\u00a0 The team was felicitated by Dr Kamlesh Tewary, President of APICON 2026 and former dean of the Indian College of Physicians<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis accomplishment marks a significant milestone for both the institution and the state of Goa, considering that Healthway Hospital\u2019s DNB program was established only three years ago. We are proud of our students\u2019 dedication, knowledge and national-level performance,\u201d said Dr Vijay Naik , Head of medicine department, Healthway Hospital about the win.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Healthway Hospitals has been hosting the DNB (Diplomate of National Board) Medicine program over the past three years. The three-year postgraduate programme awards doctors with a medical qualification equivalent to an MD in India.
