{"id":109252,"date":"2026-01-23T19:04:54","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T13:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/?p=109252"},"modified":"2026-01-23T19:06:16","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T13:36:16","slug":"aap-demands-%e2%82%b910-lakh-cashless-health-insurance-for-every-goan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/?p=109252","title":{"rendered":"AAP demands \u20b910 Lakh cashless health insurance for every Goan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly demanded that the BJP government introduce a \u20b910 lakh cashless health insurance scheme for all Goans, on the lines of the Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojana (MMSY) successfully implemented by the AAP government in Punjab.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AAP stated that healthcare costs in Goa have skyrocketed, pushing families into debt, while the BJP government continues with an inadequate and limited insurance cover under the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY), which provides only \u20b92.5 lakh coverage for families up to three members and \u20b94 lakh for families of four or more members, covering just 447 medical procedures.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, AAP highlighted that Punjab\u2019s Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojana provides \u20b910 lakh cashless treatment per family per year, with no income cap, no exclusion criteria, and coverage for over 2,350 treatment packages, including major surgeries, cancer care, cardiac procedures, dialysis, transplants, ICU care, diagnostics, medicines, and pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses .<\/p>\n<p>AAP leaders pointed out that under the Punjab model:<br \/>\n\u2022 Every resident is eligible, including government employees and pensioners<br \/>\n\u2022 Over 850 government and private hospitals are empanelled<br \/>\n\u2022 Payments to hospitals are ensured within 15 days<br \/>\n\u2022 Door-to-door enrolment ensures universal coverage<\/p>\n<p>AAP state president Valmiki Naik stated that \u201cGoa, despite being a smaller state with fewer residents, can easily afford and implement a similar universal healthcare scheme if there is political will. BJP lacks the political will to bring change, only an honest government of AAP can give Goans 10 Lakh Health Cover\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe BJP government talks about welfare, but their healthcare insurance scheme is grossly inadequate. One major illness can wipe out a family\u2019s lifetime savings.
