Among the international films drawing attention are the Uzbek film <em>In Pursuit of Spring<\/em>\u00a0and the Slovak film\u00a0<em>Flood<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At a press conference held today, the directors, producers and actors of the two films shared insights into their filmmaking journeys.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/Picture3WIAR.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"517\" height=\"344\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Producer of the Slovak film \u201c<em>Flood\u201d<\/em>,\u00a0Katarina Krnacova, said the film is based on the displacement of a village for the construction of a water reservoir. Shot in the M\u00e1jov\u00e1 region of Slovakia, nearly 80% of the cast comprises members of the Ruthenian minority community. \u201cThe film offered the Ruthenian community a rare opportunity to perform in their own language on the silver screen,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p><em>Flood<\/em>\u00a0had its second worldwide premiere at IFFI Goa, following its debut at a film festival in Argentina. The team is planning a special screening for communities affected by the real-life project on which the film is based.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/Picture47ZSR.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"356\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Uzbek film \u201c<em>In Pursuit of Spring\u201d<\/em>\u00a0was represented at the press conference by Director\u00a0Ayub Shakhobiddinov\u00a0and lead actress\u00a0Farina Jumaviya. Introducing the film, the director said it follows the journey of its protagonist, Rahat Shukurova, who confronts painful memories and long-buried secrets. \u201cAs the past resurfaces, Rahat must navigate through old wounds and hidden truths to seek reconciliation with herself,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Though set during the final years of the Soviet era in Uzbekistan, the film\u2019s themes and emotional struggles remain relevant today.
