Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa today raised the issue of Goa\u2019s dangerously damaged roads through coordinated protests and visits by its leaders across North Goa, including Parcem (Suvarna Harmalkar), Zhor Vaddo, Anjuna (Pujan Malvankar), and Durgavaddo, Taleigao (Herton).<\/strong><\/p>\n

AAP leaders slammed the BJP government for its continued failure to repair Goa\u2019s roads, despite the Chief Minister\u2019s 15-day assurance made weeks ago. They alleged that the government\u2019s apathy has already claimed multiple lives and damaged Goa\u2019s image as a world tourist destination.<\/p>\n

AAP Leader Pujan Malvankar, speaking at Zhor Vaddo in Anjuna, said: BJP doesn\u2019t care about the lives lost on roads due to potholes. It\u2019s been a month since several people have died because of bad roads \u2014 even an ambulance turned over in Porvorim due to potholes. Anjuna is a global tourist destination and the season has already started, but these roads are damaging Goa\u2019s image worldwide. The CM had promised that roads would be repaired in 15 days, yet no work is seen on the ground. This shows the BJP government\u2019s lack of seriousness. The CM and his party are only interested in doing events while Goans continue to suffer.<\/p>\n

In Parcem, Suvarna Harmalkar criticised the government\u2019s misplaced priorities, saying: People of Goa have waited long enough for better roads. Instead of repairing damaged roads, the CM is busy widening roads that will demolish Goan homes. Even after 1 lakh+ Goans appealed under AAP\u2019s #BJPCheBurak campaign, the government has failed to fix the roads. Except for a few patches, most roads remain in pathetic condition.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, at Durgavaddo in Taleigao, AAP Leader Herton drew comparisons with other regions: You go to Malaysia, Thailand, or even Kerala \u2014 their rains are as heavy as Goa\u2019s, yet their roads don\u2019t break apart. Why? Because their governments don\u2019t take 40% commission in road contracts. In Goa, this BJP government is a commission government. They care more about their cuts than people\u2019s lives and safety.<\/p>\n

AAP demanded that the BJP government:<\/p>\n

Immediately release a district-wise status report on road repairs promised under the CM\u2019s 15-day assurance.<\/p>\n

Hold contractors accountable for poor, pre-monsoon repair work.<\/p>\n

Stop PR events and focus on real governance that ensures road safety and public welfare.<\/p>\n
