Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa on Tuesday held two separate ground activity in Saligao and Quepem, continuing its state-wide campaign for better roads and exposing the BJP Government\u2019s failure to provide even basic infrastructure to the people of Goa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Saligao, AAP Goa Vice President Chetan Kamat led a visited the Saligao\u2013Pilerne Industrial Estate Road, which has been partially repaired following the public pressure created by AAP\u2019s #BJPCheBurak campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started the #BJPCheBurak signature campaign from this very road where people risked their lives every day. After 1 lakh Goans spoke up, the government was forced to act. The road is now partially repaired, but AAP will not stop here. We demand that all roads in Saligao be repaired immediately and not just for namesake before elections,\u201d said Chetan Kamat.<\/p>\n

He further criticised the BJP government for prioritising events and PR over real work.<\/p>\n

\u201cAAP is on the ground fighting for Goans while BJP is busy doing photo-ops and events. The government has forgotten its duty towards basic public needs. AAP will continue this people\u2019s movement until every Goan gets the roads they deserve,\u201d Kamat added.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Quepem, AAP leader Patricia Fernandes led a protest at of Chodwa Sawod-Kajuwada Road where people have been waiting for a proper motorable road for over 64 years since Liberation.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven after six decades, people here are forced to walk through red mud. Pregnant women, students, and patients struggle every monsoon. Ambulances refuse to enter the village. The BJP government and its MLA have failed these people miserably,\u201d said Patricia Fernandes.<\/p>\n

She also slammed the government for hiding behind the Forest Department as an excuse to delay road construction.<\/p>\n

\u201cPermissions are denied to build roads for poor villagers, but the same Forest Department clears land for resorts, mining, and private projects overnight. This shows how anti-poor and anti-tribal the BJP government truly is. Forest laws are being used to punish villagers, not protect them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Fernandes further demanded that the Forest Department immediately clear the file for road construction and that PWD begin work within 30 days, providing regular updates to the public.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis road existed before Liberation \u2014 and still looks the same. 64 years of promises, yet no tar, no progress. AAP will keep coming here until the road is built and justice is done,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Both AAP leaders reiterated that the party\u2019s movement for better roads is not limited to protests but a statewide campaign for accountability and action, covering every constituency from Saligao in North Goa to Quepem in the South.<\/p>\n

\u201cBJP and Congress both ruled Goa and failed to provide even basic infrastructure. AAP is the only party walking with the people, not over them,\u201d said Kamat and Fernandes in a joint statement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
