Industry hoteliers, tour operators, travel agents, community-based tourism entrepreneurs, sustainability advocates, and government representatives were also part of this celebration. The Meet served as a dynamic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and appreciation toward the tourism industry.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Speaking on the occasion, *Hon\u2019ble Minister for Tourism, Rohan Khaunte said \u201cThis is a day of gratitude and celebration, a gratitude to the entrepreneurs, drivers, fishermen, lifeguards and all the invisible hands that power this industry. Tourism is not run by the Department or industry alone; it is an ecosystem along with communities. This year\u2019s theme is a call to action. Goa\u2019s tourism story is not only about its hostels but also its kitchens. Our food is a bridge between the past and the future. Being a culinary capital of India, our cuisine is a gateway to culture. This diversity coexisting is what sets Goa apart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-105844\" src=\"https:\/\/goakhabar-com.preview.jikut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/21165-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"227\" height=\"142\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">He continued \u201cThe progress we celebrate today is possible thanks to the \u2018double engine sarkar\u2019 under the guidance of our Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister,\u00a0 Narendra Modi Ji and constant support from Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, we are proudly a part of the central flagship programs like the Unity Mall at Chimbel, the Porvorim Town Square, the Shivaji Maharaja Digital Museum and the Swadesh Darshan projects. Goa\u2019s circuits are being strengthened with central support which makes Goa inclusive, sustainable and world class. We have proved that Goa is a year-round destination with new flights and interest from key markets while countering misinformation with facts. \u2018Chalo India, Dekho Apna Desh\u2019 and \u2018Viksit Bharat2047\u2019 are national calls to action and Goa is proud to contribute to that journey. Our \u2018Goa Beyond Beaches\u2019 commitment is to make visitors experience our culture, tradition, food and regenerative practices. The Goan identity and culture cannot be separated \u2014 they are one. As we look ahead, the door of tourism is the door of storytelling with the community and stakeholders. \u2018Atithi Devo Bhava\u2019, Guest is Goa, and \u2018Seva Devo Bhava\u2019, Service is Divine. If we remember this, Goa will shine as an inclusive destination for the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Director of Tourism, Kedar Naik* said \u201cThrough these recognitions, we are not just honouring individual achievements but celebrating the collective spirit that drives Goa\u2019s tourism forward. Whether it is the passion of our students, the dedication of our professionals, or the creativity of our influencers, each contribution strengthens the foundation of a more inclusive, sustainable, and regenerative tourism ecosystem in Goa. The Department of Tourism remains committed to nurturing such talent and partnerships that will continue to shape Goa\u2019s position as a global tourism leader.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">A highlight of the day was the presentation of the prestigious Vincent Ramos Scholarship conferred upon two deserving IHM students,\u00a0 Mackenzee Vas and Caitlyn Rosanne Mascarenhas, in the presence of the late Vincent Ramos\u2019 wife, Deena Ramos. The Department of Tourism also felicitated Pele and Parag Ragnekar for their outstanding contribution to Goa Tourism, whileScarlet M. Rose and Moses J. Saldanha were honoured for their efforts and contribution as influencers. In addition, Shishti Sudin Prabhu Desai, Ashrafi Shetdesai Gaikwad and Viraj Phadte received tokens of appreciation for their contributions, and the achievements of Yuva Tourism Clubs were recognised through awards to Shail Sawkar (Sridora Caculo College of Commerce &amp; Management Studies), Lisa Dias (Institute of Hotel Management \u2013 Goa) and Dr. Kiran Gaude (P.E.S. Ravi S. Naik College of Arts &amp; Science).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The World Tourism Day Celebrated is set to conclude with its Grand Finale one-day Film Festival at ESG that will highlight Goa\u2019s unique cultural and natural heritage. These back-to-back flagship events reinforced Goa Tourism\u2019s ongoing commitment to \u2018Goa Beyond Beaches\u2019, community-led experiences, and the three pillars of Regenerative Tourism.
