Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on Monday launched a scathing attack on PWD Minister Digambar Kamat and the BJP government over the worsening condition of roads across Goa. The outrage follows Sunday\u2019s incident when an ambulance carrying a patient to Goa Medical College (GMC) overturned on the service road near Socorro, Porvorim, after hitting potholes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

AAP General Secretary (Organisation) Shrikrishna Parab tore into PWD Minister Digambar Kamat for failing to act on his own assurances. \u201cKamat had assured Goans that all reported potholes would be repaired within 24 hours, yet more than 900 hours have passed and nothing has been done. He had specifically promised to prioritise repairing the pothole-ridden Porvorim road before September 30, but that too remains untouched”.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis shows again how PWD ministers under the BJP government consistently fail to keep their word. It is nothing but sheer negligence and laziness. The BJP government has become shameless and irresponsible, only focused on self-development, not on serving citizens,\u201d Parab said.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that former ministers Deepak Pawaskar, Nilesh Cabral, and even Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had handled the PWD department earlier, yet no real results were visible. \u201cWe hoped that with his rich experience, the newly appointed minister Kamat would do justice, but he too has failed”.<\/p>\n

He further mocked the ongoing Seva Pakhwada campaign of the BJP on the occasion of PM Narendra Modi’s birthday suggesting BJP leaders should \u201cfill up dugged roads as part of their seva, since the minister himself has failed in his duty.\u201d<\/p>\n

AAP National Spokesperson Valmiki Naik said the BJP government woke up only after AAP launched its #BJPCHEBURAK campaign. \u201cUntil then, they were in deep slumber. Once we started the campaign, the government rushed into temporary fixes. But patchwork won\u2019t work. Goans deserve permanent, quality solutions,\u201d Naik said.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the momentum of AAP\u2019s protest, Naik revealed that their signature drive collected over 50,000 signatures within three weeks and now aims to cross 1 lakh. \u201cThis campaign is a wake-up call for Goans to choose wisely next time. Roads are a basic need, and yet this government has failed to deliver. We will continue our campaign until every Goan gets safe and durable roads,\u201d Naik declared.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
