Poor road conditions, potholes, and narrow roads have put citizens\u2019 lives at risk, exposing the government&#8217;s negligence.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In one such incident, 52-year-old Rajaram Tulekar from Tisca-Usgao lost his life after falling into a pothole while riding his two-wheeler. Another serious accident occurred on the Merces-Panaji route due to a water-filled pothole, where the driver was unable to gauge the road surface.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Responding strongly, Aam Aadmi Party\u2019s Vice President Sandesh Telekar Dessai launched a scathing attack on the government. \u201cWhile the government enforces helmet rules and conducts alchometer\u00a0 tests, it turns a blind eye to the poor road conditions that are actually causing these accidents,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-104593\" src=\"https:\/\/goakhabar-com.preview.jikut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/01.08.2025.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"286\" \/><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Telekar further accused Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant of offering only printed responses in the Assembly to dodge the real issue. &#8220;The CM has yet to grasp the gravity of the deteriorating road conditions,&#8221; he added.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Highlighting the emotional toll, Telekar said, \u201cMost of the victims are young individuals who were expected to support their families in old age. Now, grieving families are left to perform their last rites instead.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He raised a significant concern regarding emergency response, stating, \u201cPost-accident, 108 ambulances directly transport victims to GMC Hospital. But this process delays essential first aid. The government should implement a policy to provide free treatment at nearby private hospitals for critical cases.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He concluded by urging the BJP government to adopt successful models. \u201cIf the BJP has copied several AAP initiatives before, it should now implement Delhi\u2019s well-received \u2018Farishtey Yojana\u2019 in Goa. However, this must not remain a mere announcement.
