{"id":103134,"date":"2025-05-31T20:25:38","date_gmt":"2025-05-31T14:55:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/?p=103134"},"modified":"2025-05-31T20:25:38","modified_gmt":"2025-05-31T14:55:38","slug":"jai-hind-sabha-congress-reclaims-goas-legacy-challenges-bjps-history-on-statehood-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/?p=103134","title":{"rendered":"Jai Hind Sabha : Congress Reclaims Goa\u2019s Legacy, Challenges BJP\u2019s History on Statehood Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"auto\"><strong>Goa Khabar : On the occasion of Goa Statehood Day, the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) organised a powerful political gathering \u2014 Jai Hind Sabha \u2014 to honour Goa\u2019s legacy, salute the Indian Armed Forces, and expose what they called the BJP\u2019s historical betrayal of Goemkarponn.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">GPCC President Amit Patkar, in his address, reminded Goans that it was the Congress that ensured Goa\u2019s independent identity, defeating attempts by the Jan Sangh (BJP\u2019s predecessor) to merge the state with Maharashtra. \u201cCongress gave Goa its statehood in 1987 and protected its culture, language, and identity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-103130\" src=\"https:\/\/goakhabar-com.preview.jikut.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/31MAY-25-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"280\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The Sabha, held in the presence of AICC In-Charge Manikrao Thakare, MP Capt Viriato Fernandes, CLP Leader Yuri Alemao, and several senior Congress leaders, also paid tribute to the martyrs of Operation Sindoor, underlining that true patriotism lies in action, not slogans.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Patkar asserted, \u201cThe BJP wraps itself in nationalism but once tried to erase Goa\u2019s existence. Today, they wear Goemkarponn as a costume \u2014 but it was Congress that lived and defended it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The event saw massive participation from party wings including the Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, and Seva Dal.
