Through her curious gaze, she explores the women of Goan markets and the different loads they carry on their heads, here she allows the visitors to pause and acknowledge the weight, in all its complexities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen I think about the women I\u2019ve met in my life, I see their quiet strength. This exhibition is a way to acknowledge their resilience,\u201d Kerkar shared. \u201cIt\u2019s about acknowledging the weight they carry, both in their hands and in their hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chaitali Morajkar\u2019s art, on the other hand, reimagines a world where women exist beyond societal expectations. Using the traditional Goan\u00a0<em>kudnem<\/em>\u00a0pot as her canvas, her painting involves surreal figures in motion, free from imposed limitations. The interplay of symbolism and detail invites viewers to question the roles women are expected to play. \u201cFor me, art is about transformation,\u201d Morajkar reflected. \u201cI want my work to make people think\u2014what does freedom look like? What happens when we let go of what weighs us down?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018What Women Carry\u2019 presents weight not just as a challenge, but as something that also holds meaning and possibility. It acknowledges struggles while offering space for new perspectives. Visitors find themselves connecting with the themes, reflecting on the balance between endurance and liberation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis exhibition is about more than weight; it\u2019s about legacy, resistance and change. It encourages reflection on what it means to be a woman today,\u201d Sharada Kerkar, director at the Museum of Goa, underlined the exhibition\u2019s significance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With its raw honesty and layered storytelling, \u2018What Women Carry\u2019 stands as a powerful tribute to the lived experiences of women\u2014their ability to endure, as well as the social and personal legacy that they represent.
