Goa Khabar : Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) MLA Viresh Borkar today conducted a site inspection at Bambolim, accompanied by officials from the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department, to investigate illegal construction activities by M\/s Worldwide Hotels & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the inspection, serious violations under Section 17(2) of the TCP Act were observed, including large-scale excavation, unauthorized construction activities, and extensive damage to the natural environment. Shockingly, despite these blatant violations, TCP officials failed to issue a stop-work order to the company, raising serious concerns about the department\u2019s intent and integrity.<\/p>\n

The situation escalated into a heated argument between MLA Borkar and the TCP officials, after it became evident that the officers were ill-prepared for the inspection. The TCP officials ultimately left the site without completing a thorough inspection, prompting strong criticism from the MLA.<\/p>\n

MLA Borkar expressed his deep disappointment, alleging that the TCP Department\u2019s lack of preparedness and evasive conduct demonstrates a deliberate attempt to shield the violators. “This shows that the TCP officials are not serious about the nature and extent of illegalities being carried out. It is a betrayal of Goa\u2019s people and our environment,” he stated.<\/p>\n

In an attempt to escalate the matter, MLA Borkar tried reaching out to TCP Minister Shri Vishwajit Rane. However, the Minister did not respond to the call. Borkar further alleged that Minister Rane appears to be least concerned about protecting Goa\u2019s land and heritage, and is instead focused on promoting destructive projects that threaten the state’s ecological balance.<\/p>\n
