{"id":101992,"date":"2025-04-10T18:32:55","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T13:02:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/?p=101992"},"modified":"2025-04-10T18:32:55","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T13:02:55","slug":"gfa-to-hold-meeting-with-south-goa-clubs-over-housie-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goakhabar.com\/?p=101992","title":{"rendered":"GFA to hold meeting with South Goa clubs over Housie ban"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"flex w-full aos-init aos-animate\" data-aos=\"fade-left\"><\/div>\n<article class=\"newsContent my-6 aos-init aos-animate\" data-aos=\"fade-up\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"172\" data-end=\"487\"><strong>Goa Khabar : The Goa Football Association (GFA) has called for a meeting with all affiliated clubs from South Goa in response to the recent circular issued by the Office of the Collector and District Magistrate, South Goa, regarding the prohibition of <em data-start=\"438\" data-end=\"446\">housie<\/em>\u00a0under the Goa Public Gambling Act, 1976.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"734\">This directive has caused widespread concern among football clubs, particularly during the inter-village tournament season, where\u00a0<em data-start=\"619\" data-end=\"627\">housie<\/em>\u00a0games have traditionally served as a key source of revenue to support club activities throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"981\">Recognising the serious impact of the ban on the grassroots football ecosystem, the GFA intends to collate the views of all affected clubs and submit a comprehensive Memorandum to the District Collector seeking necessary intervention and relief.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1234\">The meeting will be held at the GFA Office in Margao on\u00a0Monday, 14th April 2025 at 5:30 PM.
