Goa Khabar : Drishti Marine lifesavers thwarted a robbery attempt targeting a UK tourist at Colva beach, while also providing first aid to an 80-year-old British tourist bitten by a stray dog at Benaulim beach over the weekend. Additionally, lifesavers conducted one double rescue, three single rescues and successfully traced a missing child across the state’s beaches.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Benaulim:<\/strong>\u00a0An 80-year-old man from the UK, staying in Benaulim, was bitten by a stray dog while strolling on the beach. On-duty lifesavers cleaned his wound before the tourist left voluntarily.<\/p>\n

Colva:<\/strong>\u00a0Lifesaver Sahil Tikkam assisted a woman tourist at Colva beach after a person attempted to rob her purse while she was swimming. The suspect was apprehended by the lifesaver and handed over to the police.<\/p>\n

Candolim:<\/strong>\u00a0A 27-year-old man from Dhule, Maharashtra, encountered a flash rip current while swimming at Candolim beach. Lifesaver Raj Singh rescued him and safely brought him ashore, where he was reunited with his friends. A double rescue took place at Candolim beach, where two men, aged 24 and 29 from Assam, were caught in a rip current. Lifesaver Umesh used a rescue board to bring both victims safely to shore.<\/p>\n

Calangute:\u00a0<\/strong>A 29-year-old man from Ahmednagar panicked after being hit by a wave while swimming off Calangute beach. Lifesaver Saurab Patil rescued him using a rescue tube. An 11-year-old boy from Punjab was reported missing at Calangute beach. On-duty lifesavers initiated a search and Sushant Gaonkar located the child and safely reunited him with his family after proper identification.<\/p>\n

Betalbatim:<\/strong>\u00a0A 76-year-old European male suffered a leg cramp while swimming at Betalbatim beach. Lifesaver Omkar Dhuri rescued him using a surfboard, while Roshan Patil transported him to shore using a jet ski.<\/p>\n

Arambol:<\/strong>\u00a0A 46-year-old woman from Mumbai suffered an epileptic seizure on shore at Arambol beach. Lifesavers Raghvendra K., Manoj Parab and Akshan Talkar administered oxygen and called for an ambulance for immediate medical attention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
