Disability rights associations demand justice for children and women with disability who are victims of sexual abuse

 Goa khabar: Goa Association for the Deaf and Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG) today held a candle light protest   at Azad Maidan Panjim to demand justice for children and women with disability who are victims of sexual and other abuse in society.
The candle light protest was held on the backdrop of the recent case of rape of a 12 year old hearing impaired girl by 22 men in Chennai and gang rape of a hearing impaired women in West Bengal.
“In Goa also we heard 3 cases of mentally ill women locked up and neglected for 10 to 20 years during the last six months. We need to speak up and against these atrocities against children and women with disability,” said DRAG president Avelino Dsa.
