Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of International Film Festival of India 2019




Goa Khabar:The oldest international film festival of Asia, and by far the largest in India, celebrates its landmark 50th anniversary later this month, in its gorgeous riverside location in the capital city of India’s smallest state. Over the past 15 years since Panjim was established as permanent host city for the International Film Festival of India, the event has established a global reputation for intimacy, extraordinary hospitality, and welcoming surroundings where delegates from around the world can feast on an unparalleled banquet of global cinema in the nicest possible circumstances.

Over the course of nine action-packed days at the festival venues, hundreds of films from a dazzling array of countries are balanced by the cultural landmarks of its host city, including the heritage precinct headquarters of the Entertainment Society of Goa, including the Old GMC Building (once the oldest medical college in Asia), the centuries-old Maquinez Palace complex, and the stunning jewel of Indian contemporary architecture, the Charles Correa-designed Kala Academy.

The forest department of the Government of Goa maintains a serene garden along River Mandovi in Campal, Panaji. Bhagwan Mahavir Children’s Park, boasting many attractions, is a sprawling green space for residents. Join us there for the Children’s Park and Art Park for some tasty treats and fun.

Children’s Park, to entertain Children will be open to General Public from 21st to 28th Nov 2019 from 6.30 pm onwards. Some of the daily activities at Children’s park are Magic Show, Mascots, Face painting, Zumba section, clown’s act, Balloon moulding, Stilty walker clown, 3D games, Bouncy castle, Dance performances, Games, spot prizes, Food stalls etc.

The Youth centric Art Park, to entertain public will be open from 22nd to 29th Nov 2019 from 7 pm onwards. Some of the activities at Art Park are

English Bands, DJ line-ups, International dancers, Acrobats, Fire Dancers, Indi pop music shows, Art Installation, Food stalls etc.
