Goa Khabar : Vedanta's Value Added Business (VAB) recently supported various infrastructure development projects at Navelim village such as renovation & repair of ‘Dhalo Mandap’ and infrastructure up gradation of sub-Health centre at Fanaswadi. Both infrastructure development initiatives by Vedanta at Navelim village, were inaugurated by Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant in the presence of Namrata Nanda Gawas , Sarpanch Navelim Village panchayat, Mr. Khushali Naik, Dy. Sarpanch Mr. Saptesh Sardesai- Director, Vedanta VAB, panchayat members and other villagers.
Hon’ble Goa CM appreciated Vedanta’s CSR interventions in the field of Agriculture and joint enterprise with Swayam Purna Goa to bring about 4.5 lakhs sq. m of land back to cultivation.
Rural infrastructure development is one of the major thrust area of Vedanta’s CSRinterventions. In order to further contribute towards village infrastructure development forthe larger benefits of community, Vedanta’s VAB completed renovation and repair of ‘Dhalo Mandap’ – Common place for community events, festivals and cultural events at Navelim village in order to facilitate community engagement. Further in order to extend the support towards quality health services especially in the remote village areas, Vedanta’s VAB collaborated with Directorate of health services for up gradation of Sub- Health Centre at Fanaswadi, Navelim by providing basic furniture such as cupboard, tables, examination bed, bench and chairs to make facility operational.
Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa appreciated the initiatives and said “I applaud Vedanta and Navelim village panchayat members for the infrastructure development initiatives at the village, which will benefit the community in long run. I appreciate Vedanta for varied community development interventions in the fields of health, education, agricultural and building rural infrastructure. I also applaud collaborative efforts of Vedanta in association with Swayam Purna Goa to bring about a 4.5 lakhs square m. of land back to cultivation and there by strengthening the livelihood of the community in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
