Goa Khabar: Revolutionary Goans leader from Pernem, Sujay Mhapsekar warns Deputy Chief Minister Manohar (Babu) Ajgaonkar to mend his way or they will teach him a befitting lesson if he tries to create another Gandhi market in Pernem. Local vendors in Pernem market claim that migrants have taken over their business with the support of the municipality.
The local’s vendors selling their produce in the Pernem market are being affected due to the migrants who are sitting here with the blessings of the Municipality.
“The vendors called us to the market on Sunday to highlight their plight and hardship faced after the municipality has made them to sit inside the market. Earlier they were getting ample of business as the passer-by’s were buying their stuff. Now the migrants who are sitting outside are getting all the business. It can be seen that outsiders are conducting business and making money,” pointed out Sujay Mhapsekar.
“We request the concerned to take action against the migrants and evict them at the earliest .The locals MLA and municipality should look into this matter and act at the earliest. Support and protect the livelihood of the locals,” he added.
The local vendors have accused the migrant vendors of robbing them of their business. RG demands that the Municipality and local MLA initiates stern action against migrant vendors selling their wares outside the market which is effecting the business of the locals. It is high time the people of the land and their livelihood is protected.
