Goa Khabar : North Goa Police today achieved major success when 6 persons connected with the Mandrem Assault case were arrested from Karwar in Karnataka. These persons were arrested when they had escaped Goa to evade arrests.
Following the registration of the offence, special teams had been created to arrest all the persons associated with the crime. Looking at the sensitivity of the case, a special team was created at the district level to arrest all the persons who were associated with the case.
Today this team achieved major success when following persons were arrested:
1. Vishwanath Harijan r/o Kadamba Road, Old Goa, Tiswadi-Goa
2. Suresh Naik r/o Socorro, Porvorim, Bardez-Goa
3. Sairaj Govekar r/o Maina-Pilerne, Bardez-Goa
4. Franky Nadar r/o St. Agustin waddo, St.Cruz, Tiswadi-Goa
5. Manish Hadfadkar r/o Bhaktawaddo, Chorao, Ilhas-Goa
6. Uddesh Shetty r/o Altinho, Panaji-Goa
Earlier, one person had been arrested in the case, and the vehicle used in the commission of the offence had been attached.
The Special Team which worked on the case included: PSI Vishal Mandrekar, HC-Nitin Naik, PC-Nitesh Mulgaonkar, PC-Raj Parab, PC-Pranay Gawas, PC-Rupesh Asgaonkar & Technical staff HC-Harish Palyekar, PC-Aniket Sawant, and PC-Ramanish Madkaikar. Alongside, Investigating Officer PSI Kunal Naik is conducting further investigation of the case under the guidance of Shri Ashish Shirodkar, SDPO Pernem, Shri Narayan Chimulkar, PI Mandrem PS and overall supervision of Shri Akshat Kaushal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North, Porvorim-Goa.
