Four books released by the Governor

Goa Khabar : The Governor of Goa P S Sreedharan Pillai Said that it is preferable that the medium of study should be in the mother tongue. Making the subject matter in the mother tongue it is possible to enrich the language and preserve the cultural heritage ” he added.

The Governor was speaking  after releasing four books of Central Sahithya Academy Yuva Puraskar winning Konkani poetess Shraddha Garad at Raj bhavan today.

Kids & discipline (English), Mankulim ani Shist (braille konkani) written by Shradha Garad was released at the hands of Hon’ble Governor T Shridharan Pillay. The konkani book in Devnagri and translation in Malyalam was released simultaneously.

Speaking further the Governor said, She is a National asset for Goa, and an inspiration to others. The Governor has extended her a helping hand towards her medical treatment and will support her in future also, Governor added.

Jnanpith winner Damodar Mauzo, Pachu Menon, Gajananan Velip and Shraddha Garad received the first copies of the books. M. R. M. Rao, IAS, Secretary to Governor attended  ceremony. Shradha Garad expressed her gratitude towards the Governor for all his support. She thanked Sunetra Jog for getting the book converted to braille and Mr RSBhaskar for translating the book in Malyalam.

The Governor handed over financial aid of Rs 50000/- to  Shraddha Garad,who is undergoing medical treatment. Earlier, Shri Dinesh Manerkar welcomed the guests.
