Goa Khabar:Following a powerful press conference held today at the office of MLA Venzy Viegas in Benaulim, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa exposed a massive job scam within the BJP-led Goa government, coining it as the “Nokri for Tokri” scandal. This phrase, introduced by MLA Venzy Viegas, captures the rampant “cash-for-jobs” corruption that has undermined opportunities for deserving Goan youth. AAP leaders, including President Amit Palekar, MLAs Cruz Silva and Venzy Viegas, and General Secretary Francis C…

  1. Tragic Loss and Unveiling of the “Nokri for Tokri” Racket

AAP President Amit Palekar called attention to the tragic death of Shridhar Satarkar, a government employee who reportedly paid significant sums for a job. His death underscores the human toll of the “Nokri for Tokri” corruption, which preys on job-seekers for cash.

“This tragedy is a stark reminder that this scam isn’t just about money; it’s destroying lives. We demand justice for Shridhar Satarkar and accountability from those who’ve exploited Goa’s youth for financial gain,” said Palekar.

  1. High-Level Corruption and Misuse of Influence

Palekar highlighted the arrest of Pooja Naik, who allegedly accumulated luxury assets despite no stable income source. Her arrest exposes a network of high-ranking insiders using their positions for personal profit.

“Pooja Naik’s arrest is just the beginning. The involvement of government insiders who’ve betrayed their office for personal profit must be fully exposed and punished,” emphasized Palekar.

  1. Systemic Failures in the Recruitment Process

MLA Cruz Silva emphasized that the BJP government deliberately sidelined the Goa Staff Selection Commission (SSC), allowing hiring to be conducted without oversight and creating avenues for bribery.

“The SSC was sidelined to enable corrupt practices in recruitment, stripping deserving youth of a fair shot. This abuse of power must end, and we demand a return to transparent hiring,” stated Silva.

  1. Francis Coelho Demands Public Disclosure of Call Records to Reveal the “Queenpin” from Sankhli

AAP General Secretary Francis Coelho called on the Goa Police and the government to release the call records of all arrested individuals to allow the public to uncover the influential “queenpin” from Sankhli behind the scam.

“The people of Goa deserve transparency. We demand that the call records of all those arrested so far be made public. Let Goans see for themselves who is behind this racket. The truth will reveal the ‘queenpin’ driving this ‘Nokri for Tokri’ scam,” declared Coelho.

  1. Erosion of Trust and the Call for Fair Recruitment

MLA Venzy Viegas, who coined the term “Nokri for Tokri,” concluded the briefing by stressing the disillusionment among Goan youth who have been deprived of fair employment opportunities.

“Our youth deserve a fair system where merit, not money, determines success. This government has betrayed them, and AAP stands with Goa’s youth in demanding change and a return to integrity in hiring,” Viegas stated.

AAP’s Demands for Accountability and Justice:

– Independent Investigation: AAP calls for a CBI probe or a judicial inquiry led by a retired High Court judge to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation.
– Immediate Halt to Current Recruitment Processes: AAP demands that all ongoing recruitment be paused until transparency is restored.
– Accountability of High-Ranking Officials: AAP emphasized that senior officials, including those close to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, must be held accountable.
– Public Disclosure of Call Records: AAP insists that call records be made public to shed light on the “queenpin” orchestrating the scam and to allow the Goan people to see the truth for themselves.
