DevFest Goa 2024 : Goa’s largest Tech Fest inspires a new generation of innovators

Goa Khabar : DevFest Goa 2024, organized by the Google Developer Group (GDG) Goa, concluded with resounding success at the Panjim Convention Center. Attracting over 250 developers, tech enthusiasts, and innovators, the event has solidified its position as Goa’s largest and most influential tech gathering. This year’s DevFest built upon a legacy of innovation and growth, with the first event held back in 2012. 

The event was inaugurated by Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Information Technology, Tourism, Electronics & Communications and Printing Technology & Stationery. In his address, the Minister emphasized Goa’s emergence as a thriving hub for startups and technology companies, highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering a tech-driven economy. He spoke about the increasing number of companies choosing Goa as their base, drawn by supportive policies, a flourishing coworking culture, and the state’s exceptional quality of life. He further reiterated the government’s dedication to supporting startups across all sectors through initiatives powered by the Startup Promotion Cell of Goa. 

Adding to the excitement of DevFest Goa 2024, Karthik Padmanabhan, Developer Relations Lead at Google India, graced the event with his presence. He engaged with attendees and spoke passionately about the vital role Google Developer Communities play in shaping the future of technology in India. He highlighted how these communities serve as catalysts for innovation, providing developers with the resources, support, and connections they need to thrive in the ever-evolving tech landscape. He emphasized Google’s commitment to empowering Indian developers and fostering a vibrant ecosystem of tech talent across the country. 

DevFest Goa 2024 delivered a series of advanced technical sessions led by prominent industry experts, showcasing the latest technological advancements. Mr. Vivek Yadav initiated the day with an insightful session on Flutterflow, demonstrating how developers can streamline app development. Aditya Thakur followed with an engaging talk on Dart on Cloud Run, empowering Flutter developers to go full-stack using Google Cloud. 

Rivu Chakraborty enlightened the audience on SOLID Architecture, providing practical guidance on building maintainable and scalable applications. Mr. Biswanath Giri shared his expertise in optimizing cloud projects in his session on GCP Networking. The afternoon sessions continued with Tarun Jain delving into the future of AI, teaching attendees how to Build Autonomous Agents using Gemini Pro. Sumit Kumar delivered a crucial session on Securing Applications with Cloud Armour, while Adit Lal explored strategies to enhance the safety and security of Android Apps. The event concluded with a session by Kushagra Nagar, who seamlessly blended art and technology to reveal the magic behind game development in his talk, Game Alchemy. 

Prajyot Mainkar, organizer and advisor to DevFest Goa, has been an integral part of the event’s journey since its inception in 2012. His strategic guidance and deep industry knowledge have been instrumental in shaping DevFest Goa into the leading tech event it is today. He has played a key role in curating the event’s agenda, attracting top-tier speakers, and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages learning and innovation. 

“Witnessing DevFest Goa evolve into one of the largest tech gatherings in the state has been incredibly rewarding,” said Mainkar. “This year’s event was particularly special, with participants joining us from various corners of India, including Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Hyderabad. This diverse mix of professionals, faculty, and students created a truly enriching atmosphere, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and perspectives. The energy and enthusiasm of the participants are a testament to the growing strength of Goa’s tech community, and DevFest Goa continues to serve as a vital platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and inspiration. I am immensely proud to be a part of its continued success.” 

The response from attendees and speakers alike was overwhelmingly positive. Participants praised the event’s organization, the caliber of speakers, and the valuable networking opportunities. Many highlighted the diversity of topics covered, ranging from cloud computing and app security to AI and workflow automation.
