Goa Khabar : Ankushraj Singh and Ashwini Velip won the men’s and women’s 10km race at the 2nd SKF Goa River Marathon-Verna Industries-GIDC organised “October Run” in the Verna industrial estate on Sunday.
The event which is a pre-cursor to the 14th SKF Goa river marathon to be held in Chicalim on December 8 was held in the 5km and 10km categories.
Narayan Giri and Pavan Kumar were adjudged second and third in the men’s 10km race, while Yohanna D’Souza and Sreedevi Manjunath came second and third respectively in the women’s 10km race. All winners received a cash prize and a trophy each.
Omvir Singh Bishnoi, IGP, Goa Police flagged off the 10km race and took part in the race, while Nitin Kuncolienkar, founder president, Verna Industries association flagged off the 5km race.
