Union Minister Sonowal Kicks Off 20th Maritime States Development Council Meeting in Goa

Goa Khabar : Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarbanand Sonowal, addressed the media today at the Mormugao Port Authority, marking the beginning of the two-day 20th Maritime States Development Council (MSDC) meeting in Goa.
The meeting, which commenced today, will focus on key programs such as Sagarmala, Maritime India Vision 2030, and the maritime component of the Amritkal Mission 2047. Minister Sonowal praised the significant progress made by the maritime sector over the last decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a significant announcement, Sonowal revealed that an international and domestic cruise terminal will be completed in Goa within a short span of time, catering to the state’s thriving tourism industry. The terminal is expected to boost Goa’s maritime infrastructure and enhance the overall tourist experience.
The 20th MSDC meeting will continue tomorrow, with stakeholders and experts from the maritime sector engaging in discussions and deliberations on the key programs and initiatives.
