Goa Khabar:As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan campaign, a session titled “SAY YES TO LIFE & NO TO DRUGS” was conducted on 15th July 2024 for the F.Y.B.Sc. students of Goa College of Home Science. The resource person of the session was Ms. Carolyn Cardoso, Assistant Professor in Human Development. The primary goal of the session was to educate participants about the dangers of drug addiction and encourage them to make positive life choices.
The session began with an introduction to drug addiction, defining it and the factors that influence individuals to start taking drugs such as environmental influences, peer pressure, stress, etc. Ms. Carolyn spoke about the effects of drug addiction and the signs to identify if any individual is a drug addict. Some prevention strategies were also discussed, emphasizing the importance of education and awareness programs.
The session concluded with a pledge that was taken by the students from the mygov website and were issued certificates for the same from the Narcotics Control Bureau.
The session was coordinated by Nodal Officer for Mission Drug Free Campus, Assistant Professor, Dr. Nadisha Coelho.
