Goa Khabar:In alignment with the Government of India and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change initiative to promote a green and clean environment, Goa Naval Area (GNA) has embarked on a mass tree plantation drive.
In February 2024, NUWR (Goa) under the aegis of HQGNA and Bajaj Electrical Foundation under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program joined hands to collaborate on this significant environmental initiative. Following an onsite visit in March 2024, various locations within the Goa Naval Area at Vasco were identified and finalised for the plantation.
The Indian Navy remains steadfast in its commitment to environmental sustainability, actively addressing climate change, enhancing biodiversity, and promoting ecological balance. This mass tree plantation project reflects Goa Naval Area’s dedication in fostering a sustainable future for the community and the planet. The active participation of the naval community in this drive is aimed at nurturing a sense of ownership and responsibility towards the environment.
