FC Goa play BUFA in shootout to decide second finalist
Goa Khabar: Dempo SC put five goals past Sporting Club de Goa as they won their second match in Group A of the Dream Sports Championship Goa regional rounds at the Rosary College Grounds in Navelim on Tuesday.
Dempo SC were in fine form as Anni drew first blood in the 11th minute. Despite Sporting’s fightback, Ashok Vaz effectively ended the match when he scored his team’s second goal in the 44th minute. Nigel Viegas, Kayden Mansley and substitute Krutik Gaikwad were the other goal scorers for Dempo.
In Group B, FC Goa beat SESA Football Academy 2-0 with Shawn Fernandes scoring both goals. They are tied on goal difference with Belgaum United Football Academy (BUFA) and will face off in a penalty shootout on Thursday, April 18, to decide the second finalist for the Goa regional rounds.
The finals will be played on Thursday April 18 at 4pm.
