Porvorim’s New Development Initiatives for Community Enhancements

Goa Khabar: Porvorim witnessed a momentous occasion on 09th March 2024, marking a major step forward in its development. The inauguration was led by the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Printing and Stationery Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, in the presence of ZP Kavita Gupesh Naik, Penha De Franca panchayat Sarpanch Shri. Sapnil Chodankar, and other Panch Members.

The evening commenced with the laying of the foundation stone for futsal ground at Penha De Franca, situated opposite the Penha De Franca Panchayat, which aimed to improve infrastructure and amenities. This was followed by the development of the Rickshaw Stand, strategically positioned near the Housing Board Market, aimed at enhancing transportation convenience. Additionally, the opening of an open space near the Clock Tower, across from Ghadge Maharaj Hall, was another significant event intended for community use. Laid the foundation stone for the senior park at the service road further highlighted the commitment to enriching recreational facilities and green spaces in Porvorim. Lastly, inspected the clock tower near Art Park.

Emphasizing the ongoing development in the Porvorim, Minister for Tourism, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Printing and Stationery Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte expressed “We are steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that every resident has access to essential amenities, aligning with Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant’s vision Viksit Bharat Viksit Goa. Through collaborative efforts with the community, Porvorim is witnessing remarkable progress, particularly in enhancing infrastructure. Our focus remains on providing improved parking facilities and other essential services for residents. The development of rickshaw stand marks a significant step in enhancing transportation accessibility in prime locations. These developments succeeded because everyone worked together responsibly and collaboratively.”
