A French Live production, staged as part of the France-India Year of Innovation 2026

Goa Khabar: The French Institute in India, in partnership with the Alliance Française network in India, brings the French production “Le Voyage de Rézé” to nine cities across India this October, as part of IFI’s French Live performing arts series and the France-India Year of Innovation 2026. The tour opens in New Delhi on 6 October and closes in Trivandrum on 27 October, giving Indian audiences a rare chance to see a “concert dessiné”: a live performance where music and illustration are created together, in real time, on stage.

About the Show

“Le Voyage de Rézé” is a musical quartet with a distinctive style: a light-hearted format, refined content and a performance built to hold a room’s attention from the first note. Across the show, audiences are pulled into a musical, poetic and colourful journey, part invitation to meet someone new, part invitation to see the world differently. The repertoire moves between familiar, forgotten and invented melodies, and the world of the show takes shape as it unfolds, drawn and projected live on stage.

The show traces back to its namesake, Rézé, a Grenoble-based singer-guitarist who at 20 set off hitchhiking through West Africa, performing in Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso and Benin, before training in jazz guitar in France and spending a year absorbing the music of Salvador da Bahia in Brazil. That same restless curiosity shaped the show itself. Produced by Les Productions du Bazar in Grenoble, “Le Voyage de Rézé” has already travelled to La Réunion, El Salvador and Angola, among other stops. The quartet’s connection to India goes back to February 2023, when illustrator Emdé made his first visit to the country and filled a travel notebook with sketches, groundwork that now returns as this nine-city tour.

On stage: Rézé on vocals and guitar, Soifran on percussion, Emdé drawing the show live, and Christoo projecting it in real time. The performance runs 1h10, in French and English, and is recommended for audiences aged 10 and above.

“‘Le Voyage de Rézé’ is exactly the kind of cultural encounter we want to bring to India this year. It turns a concert into something the artists and the audience build together, live, and that spirit of creation and exchange is at the heart of what the France-India Year of Innovation stands for. We are delighted to bring this show to nine cities through our French Live series, together with the Alliance Française network.” – Grégor Trumel, Director, The French Institute in India
