Goa Khabar:The Aam Aadmi Party’s Goa Core Committee today stated that the BJP-Congress Joint Venture has in the last decade jointly destroyed Goa. They stated that Vijai Sardesai must decide whether he stands with the BJP-Congress Joint Venture or with the people of Goa? AAP added that there will definitely be Congress defections as Girish Chodankar who oversaw the last two waves of defections is the President again.

AAP stated that from the very start the Goa First alliance was a non BJP- non Congress aimed at the BJP-Congress Joint Venture. Stating that the BJP-Congress Joint Venture has turned the anti defection law into the multi defection law, AAP Goa President Valmiki Naik said that it was made crystal clear and agreed upon with the Goa First Party that there would be no place for the Congress in the Goa First Alliance from the start. Valmiki added that Vijai Sardesai had himself coined the term “Hat trick of defections” when talking about the Congress and had suspended talks with Congress.

Capt Venzy Viegas stated that the Congress who couldn’t protect their mandate or their MLAs today is doing a drama of a “Goy Rakhon Yatra”. Venzy stated that despite BJP’s many enticements neither Cruz nor he defected and said that AAP doesn’t just Talk the Talk but also Walk’s the Walk. He added that despite being in opposition today AAP MLAs have worked better than even MLAs in power in providing services to their constituency. He asked how many land conversions had the Congress MLAs stopped in their constituencies and when they were in power they never protected the Reis Magos hills.

Valmiki Naik added that the Congress candidates have deep roots in the BJP and that all signs point to a hat trick of defections by the Congress. In 2017 Congress was the single largest party with 17 seats and still could not form the government. BJP came to power & in July 2019 10 of those 17 Congress MLAs joined BJP giving BJP a majority. In the last elections Congress won 11 seats and despite its candidates publicly taking an oath of loyalty at a temple, a church and a dargah by September 2022, 8 of the 11 had joined BJP. Over two elections, 18 MLAs elected by Congress voter are in the BJP.

AAP stated that in the last 10 years it is BJP and Congress Alliance which are creating havoc in Goa whether with crime, High bills, power cuts, unemployment or the very identity of Goa via section 39 A. Valmiki also said that BJP and Congress are trying to repeat the Gujarat Model where BJP is in power for 30 years. He added that even Rahul Gandhi has publicly stated that there are people in the Gujarat Congress who are actually helping the BJP similarly there are Congress leaders in Goa working for the BJP.
